Helen Ellen was the last child of William C. McAllister (J34-3-1) and Dorcas Powers McAllister. She was born January 20, 1865, and, when this teenage picture of her was made, she was already an orphan. In 1887, she married Charles S. Pauley and the couple had two children, a boy and a girl. Later in life she had to have a leg amputated, and she lived for many years with an artificial limb. She was a woman of great character and great strength. She died April 13, 1948, at the age of 83.

George was the sixth child of George McAllister (J34-3-3-9) and Ellen Helen Gowdy McAllister. He was born March 7, 1896, and was about ten years years old when the picture was made. In 1922, he married Isabelle Marie Somerville, and the couple had two children, a boy and a girl. As a young man he lost an arm while working in the family's sawmill. He was a man of great character and great strength. He died June 13, 1973, at the age of 77.
