*CAROLSUE PERSING
CHILDREN of CECIL LEROY HAIR and *CAROL SUE PERSING
I was born at the Navy Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma, while my father served in the Navy in World War II. I lived in Norman with my mother until Dad returned to Oklahoma from San Diego, then in Oklahoma City for a short time. My parents bought a small house in Del City, Oklahoma, when I was 5 years old, and I continued to live in Del City until 1997. I met Leroy Hair while attending Del City High School. We both attended the University of Oklahoma. I earned a BA in 1965 and Leroy a BBA in 1967. I received my postgraduate degree in Professional Writing from the University of Oklahoma in the late 1980's. I taught in the Midwest City-Del City Schools from 1965 until I took an early retirement in 1996. Leroy began his career in finance and banking in 1967. Leroy now lives in a suburb of St. Louis, where he continues quite successfully in his profession. My husband, "Dutch" McAllister, and I are engaged in the researching and writing of a history of the 27 Infantry (Wolfhounds) during the Vietnam War. We are living in the beautiful New River Valley of Southwestern Virginia, near the town of Narrows. I miss Oklahoma and my family, of course, and we go visit as often as we can.
Authoring THE
EWING FAMILY TREE has been and will continue to be a challenge, but
so very rewarding. I find I have a deep fascination with genealogy. I will
continue expanding my knowledge of the history of my family, for it is
important to the future that we explore the past.
