He married Nannie Cordelia Pirtle 20 Sep 1903 in Salona, Montague County, Texas. She was born 17 Sep 1883. She was the daughter of Ambrose P. Pirtle and Sarah Bethana Morris. Nannie died 9 Feb 1969 in Chickasha, Grady County, Oklahoma, and was buried in Bowie, Montague County, Texas, beside John Herschel.
